2014 was a long year for me, some years seem to last longer than others. I had some lows this past year that seem to outweigh the highs. I think this is the first year that I've reflected on and wasn't happy about. I take all of the responsibility for my year not being the best. I allowed life to get the better of me and I didn't stay focused on the things I wanted to accomplish.
BUT, I also had some highs last year. I finally accomplished a long time goal of mine, starting a blog! Honestly, I was very nervous to start a blog. At first I had no idea what to talk about and I didn't think my writing was the best, along with many other doubts. But my friend really pushed me to start this travel blog since I was always "on the go." I am so glad that I listened to them because this is the highlight of my year. 5 years from now I'll look at 2014 in a positive light simply because of my blog. Something else positive I gained last year was strength. Not physical strength, but mental and spiritual strength. I had to go through some really rough things to get my strength to where it is today, but I am very thankful for those times. As cliche as it sounds, you really don't know how strong you are until all you can do is be strong.
With all of that being said, I am very grateful for this past year and it has put a fuel into my fire to make 2015 a better year. I am already taking different steps towards reaching my goals. The one thing that I want to share with y'all is my vision board. I decided that I wanted to make a vision board this year because of my focus issues in 2014. I am a visual person so I know that I need to see my goals everyday. I am that girl who has post its all over her room of positive quotes and reminders. Yes, I'm just like Mary Jane, I just don't have as many notes.
My vision board consists of personal goals and travel goals that I want to meet in 2015. Of course, I want to go into small detail about my travel goals. My vision board is hanging over my bed so that I can look at it everyday and be inspired.
I left spaces in case I want to add anything or write on it later.
The pictures on my board represent places or things that I want to that involve traveling. I would love to go to Australia, Boston, Dubai and Paris. I also want to go on a cruise, I'm still a little nervous about it but I'm committed to going. I've always wanted to stay in a water bungalow on vacation, and I am determined to make it happen this year. Lastly, I want to go on a ski trip. All the other pictures on my board represent personal goals that I want to reach this year, or take big strides towards making them a reality in 2016.
If you've never made a vision board before I promise you, its one of the easiest things to do. All you need are magazines (or printed pictures from the internet), scissors, glue or tape, and a board. It's also very cheap, most of those things you can find around your house. If you don't want to do it alone, make a girls (or guys) day/night out of it. It's a really fun activity to do with your friends and/or family. You're having fun, saving money AND taking the first step towards your goals!
Do you all have any New Year goals? If so, share them below in the comments. I would love to see what you all have cooking for 2015. I hope that you all have a wonderful year. Work hard, don't give up, and keep the faith. All things can be done, but remember Rome wasn't built in a day. I believe that 2015 is the year of greatness for every person reading this. I pray that you all have a great start to your 2015.
Peace&Love
Janisha
